Thermal Oxidation

Noble uses a custom “burn-out” oven to incinerate all organic, non-precious material, leaving behind a semi-fine ash and other solids.

Ball Mill

The remaining precious metal material is ball milled into a fine, crushed powder.

Sifting

The fine powder is sifted using 7 different mesh sizes. During this process, non-ferrous metals remaining in the prepared sweeps are screened out and the magnetic oversize is removed.

Smelting

The non-ferrous metallics are smelted into a cone with a pin-core (sample) taken.

Analysis

The pin-core undergoes our fire assay process to determine metal purity. This is where most refiners stop. Noble goes one important step further.

Chemical Process

At our state-of-the-art laboratory, the prepared sweeps are treated with a series of acids to make 99.99% pure metal. The final step includes adding sodium metabisulfite to precipitate the gold.
